This is a purely educational website. Nothing here is legal advice or creates or implies an attorney-client relationship. If you have a specific legal issue, PLEASE talk to a lawyer who practices where you live—laws vary from place to place, and how they're applied varies from courthouse to courthouse. Your local county bar association can probably refer someone who handles matters like yours.
By using this site, you agree that you are awesome. Use of this site also constitutes acceptance of its Terms of Service and Privacy Policies, which are known to medical science as a cure for insomnia.
It's best to keep all discussions in the comments. But if you really need to reach Nathan privately, go ahead and email him at n.e.burney@gmail.com. He won't mind.
THE ILLUSTRATED GUIDE TO LAW and the PEEKING JUSTICE logo are pretty damn cool trademarks and should probably be registered one of these days.

This is where John Adams comes to the rescue with A Dissertation on the Canon and Feudal Law and updates everyone!
Right? Right?
Okay, I’ll go read it and see if it actually has anything to do with what we’re talking about.
Hmm, looks like he’s using a rifle as a club.
well ya, you get one shot out of guns back then, and in a melee you don’t have time to reload. (Really good users could get at most 6 shots a minute, and that requires a ton of practice)
That’s why their was no time for law school, killing natives takes a lot longer when you try to club them with a musket.
It certainly doesn’t look like he’ll be using it as a gun again; if he connects with anything holding it like that, it’ll snap clean in two.
Muskets back then were sturdy enough to use as a bludgeon, and were commonly used that way in close-quarter fighting.
Oh, I know they’re fairly sturdy, but there’s a big weak point where a lot of wood is bored out for the lock. Holding it by the very end of the barrel like that would put a lot of stress on that spot when it hits, and I wouldn’t expect it to survive.
how long did it take you to write all of these comics??
He started in 2011, based on the copyright notes he used to have at the end of chapters.
