Both Israel and Yehudah had sworn covenants of mutual alliance with the empire, as its vassal provinces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">NARRATION (pointing to Israel):<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">But then Israel allied itself with Egypt <strong>against<\/strong> Assyria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Assyria felt betrayed\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">NINEVEH VOICE:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">You\u2019re supposed to be my <strong>buffer<\/strong> against Egypt, not its <strong>buddy!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">NARRATION:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u2026and responded as you might expect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">-=-<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Panel 2: A pair of well-armed Assyrian charioteers patrol beside a long road along which clustered groups of people are walking.
