For burning down my\u00a0own<\/strong> house, maybe\u2014but surely not for knocking down my\u00a0neighbor’s<\/strong> house to save everyone else’s!<\/p>\n

Why can’t I claim\u00a0necessity?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Because the Necessity defense doesn’t apply if\u00a0you’re<\/strong> the one who caused the emergency in the first place.<\/p>\n
