We passed<\/strong> Athenian democracy about, oh, four hundred years back thataway.<\/p>\n

I<\/strong> bet the Framers of the Constitution<\/strong> might disagree with you on that one.<\/p>\n

The Framers, interrupted during the Constitutional Convention, address the reader.<\/p>\n

GEORGE WASHINGTON:<\/p>\n

On the contrary, one of the few things we all<\/strong> agreed on was that we shouldn\u2019t<\/strong> be inspired by Athens.<\/p>\n

The Athenian way of doing things would have been the surest guarantee of folly, injustice, and oppression!<\/strong><\/p>\n
