To expand on that a bit… if Pi thought there was a reasonable chance that she was wrong, I don’t think she’d be prosecuting. At least for her character, it’s been established that she cares about getting the right guy. If she’s prosecuting, it’s because she genuinely thinks they did it and she can prove it.
… of course, those types aren’t immune to being wrong. >.>
Actually that raises an interesting question: is having Pi and DC as prosecutor and defense counsel ethical? I’m sure at the very least it’d have to be disclosed to their respective clients, but the familial ties could unduly influence them.
